VAL HOYLE FOR CONGRESS
In the early days as the social media intern for the Val Hoyle For Congress campaign, I spent most of my time canvassing, creating content, and scheduling social media (Instagram, X, and Facebook) posts. Talking directly to voters while canvassing gave me a real sense of their day-to-day challenges, which I could then incorporate into our online messaging.
However, over time, I was given the opportunity to take on more strategic responsibilities as the social media manager. This shift in my role deepened my understanding of the campaign’s mission and values.
As the manager, I crafted weekly posts such as the “Val-unteer of the Week,” “Val-edictorian of the Week,” and “Val-idators,” and curated captions for every piece of content. Furthermore, I spread Hoyle’s message via newsletters and letters to the editor.
